Travel & Outfitting
Fishing trips are a great way to get together with family or best friends. Time spent together outdoors can be a fantastic way to create lifelong memories. Fishing is good for your health, including your mental health.
An All-Inclusive Fishing Adventure
It is a lot of fun, it really is. An all-inclusive trip to see us. I’ve been doing this trip for many years with the same outfits. You arrive at Panama Tocumen Airport; from that point on, you are fully guided the entire time until you reach the departure gate. Hundreds of my guests have passed this way.
What happens between arrival and departure depends on your preference, but it usually goes like this: an airport hostess brings your baggage ahead of you to a private passenger van, and you are off to the JW Marriott, formerly the Trump Ocean Club. As you can imagine, it’s a nice hotel. Everything you want is there.
The chauffeur brings you to the curb, the bellmen take you to reception to receive the keys to your reserved rooms. Up the elevator you go. The next morning, leave the luggage you don’t need at the front desk. As early as you want, usually 5:30 am, the chauffeur is at the curb. He brings you through the rear entrance to Albrook Airport, right into the hangar where the two airplanes we use are kept. You get in a plane and go. It’s a one-hour and fifteen-minute flight over the Panama Canal until you land here, where you meet me on the landing strip.
The police and I walk you down to the beach, out to the Joker, where you find my first mate, ready to fish. Introductions, the first beer, and we begin. As many days as you choose.
Your return is the exact opposite. We fish until 4:30, and you are in the air by 5:00.
What to Pack
Pack whatever you want for Panama City. Sort out what you need for the islands in a soft sided bag. Leave your heavy luggage with the bellman.
The Piper Seneca useful load is 1,000 pounds. So four 200 pound men may carry up to 200 lbs. in soft sided luggage.
The Islander carries 1,400 pounds
It feels good to travel light. Here’s all you really might need.
