Red Grouper ?

One of the top number one fish to eat!

You may find Cherna which is local for I guess Red Grouper? in 400 foot shallow water over a flat offshore bank, the Banana Bank. We have not put much time toward deep drop fishing with so many other fishing options, but if you do you will normally score, if not Cherna, at least some sorts of interesting fish. The crew will enthusiastically assist anyone interested in seriously exploring deep drop fishing. 

We’ve hooked a good number of Black & Blue Marlin on and near the Banana Bank. So while trolling over the bank I like to keep an eye on all the waypoints where we found Cherna before, to see if we mark any bait down near the bottom. If theres life down there, we may elect to take a break in lure trolling, pull the lines in. Set up a drift,  drop some bait down and pull the jigs & jigging rods out. When conditions are right everybody hooks up something. More species for the trips list.
