Why Here
Why Choose Coiba Adventure
Location
Panama is just a short flight from Houston, Atlanta, and Miami. With our Fast & Cool itinerary, you’ll touch down on uninhabited Isla de Coiba by 7:30 AM the next morning. You can have your lines in the water right away and start catching a variety of nearshore species. Alternatively, you can run nonstop for an hour and forty minutes southeast to Jicaron and Jicarita Islands to fish for Black and Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, and Yellowfin Tuna.
Tropical Paradise
Jicaron and Jicarita define a primitive tropical paradise. They are ringed with coconut trees and coral reefs. You’ll find long white sand beaches, clear blue waters, and lush rainforest. Additionally, impressive cliffs and caves enhance the scenery. Magnificent Frigate Birds and Boobies soar from the rocky outcrops, and you’ll see no evidence of human presence. All the fish species we catch thrive in the waters surrounding these two fishing fantasy islands. Just a short distance from Isla Jicarita, the one-hundred-fathom water attracts big pelagics that come close to the island to feed.
Coiba National Park
Within the government-protected waters of Coiba National Park, you’ll find at least 34 significant islands and countless undersea rocks and reefs. These islands sit outside coastal waters, edging deep oceanic areas. Strong currents continually bring in fish from the drop-off of the Continental Shelf.
The park is rich in fish-holding structures. These islands attract and hold fish, which are protected by law from commercial exploitation. Moreover, they are spellbinding to behold. Wherever marlin are regularly captured, you’ll find the drop-off of the Continental Shelf into the deep sea nearby. Here, park waters extend to the edge of the Continental Shelf, leading into the deep abyss.
Remote Fishing Experience
Commercial fishing is prohibited in park waters. This vast and remote region remains far from modern roads, towns, marinas, hotels, and services. As a result, there has been very little pressure on the fish. While out fishing, we rarely encounter another boat.
Our remote island lodge is only a few miles from the limits of the park. It is situated on an island populated by a couple of hundred people. This micro-society is based on subsistence fishing, with a small agricultural community across the water in Bahia Honda. The isolated locals live a healthy, tranquil life, far from the processed world outside.

Fishing Paradise
Fish among many mountainous tropical islands that are uninhabited, protected, and seldom visited. Numerous nearby deep-water rocks and fish-holding pinnacles surround these islands. This creates pristine environments where a great variety of game fish flourish without the pressure of commercial harvest.
Our lodge is only 4 miles from Coiba National Park, a group of uninhabited islands where wildlife remains abundant. As you leave our dock, you’ll travel past changing island coastlines to and from the offshore fishing grounds.
There’s no need to run far out into the open ocean; we are always near islands, even when targeting marlin and tuna.
